"I don't lead the sirens. I just clear the stage for them. I handle the land, the logistics, and the occasional dry problem, all so the magic can stay underwater. My goal is to make sure the people that I care about reach theirs. Even if their goals involve splashing me in the face and ignoring my requests to jump through a hoop"

The Great Matchu
Tail Taimer
The Trainer. The Wrangler. The Muscle behind the tails. Or at least the muscle that lifts the tails. The mermaids would be beached without him!
A Glimpse Into Matchu's Story
It all began on a jagged forgotten coastline where Matchu first encountered the legendary Siren Leviia. While the rest of the surface world saw a myth to be captured, Matchu saw a spirit that needed a sanctuary. He swore a solemn (and occasionally sarcastic) oath to protect her and her kin from the "dangerous" hands of ordinary humans, His solution was a traveling sanctuary. By taking the Sirens on the road, he keeps them safely tucked in their aquatic fortress while allowing the "land-lubbers" just enough of a glimpse to be touched by their magic.

As the official Tail Tamer of the Leviathan Sirens, Matchu brings a certain... unpredictable flair to the shore. He's sharp-witted, slightly quirky, and possesses the kind of patience only found in men who spend their lives negotiating with sentiment fish-people. Armed with his velvet coat and trusty fish hoop (that he just can't get these mermaids to jump through), he manages the daily chaos of life on the road with a wink and a dry joke, ensuring the sirens are fed, the water is salty, and the humans stay on the right side of the glass.
His "taming" style is more of a suggestion than a science. While some of the more playful mermaids are happy to perform a trick or two for the crowd, others - Leviia included- frequently remind him that they aren't exactly the "jumping through hoops" kind of "pets" that he had in mind. Matchu takes it all in stride, knowing that in the battle of wills between man and fish (actually aquatic mammals), the one with the tails usually wins... well, all the time, actually. He's just here to make sure they look good while ignoring him.
